Frequently Asked Questions

Do we really need a Wedding Videographer?

Okay, admittedly I am cheating a bit with this first one. There hasn’t been a couple that has explicitly asked me this question…because if they are taking the step to reach out and contact me, they probably have already made their minds up. However, I do feel like this is a question passing through the minds of every newly engaged couple who are starting to think about what they want on their wedding day.

The easy answer to this is in my opinion is a resounding yes! I think that if you don’t have one, you will very likely end up regretting it. To read more about this, read my blog article on this right here!

What areas are you currently offering your services in?

We are currently offering full wedding videography packages and services to many areas in and around Toronto, Ontario as well as the surrounding GTA.

What style of wedding film do you specialize in?

My goal is to deliver a beautiful, unique wedding film that you will want to watch over and over for years to come. The primary way I accomplish this is through using your speeches, vows, and letters as the theme and groundwork to create a cinematic and professional-looking video. I mix in music tailored to your tastes in order to set the mood.  Some couples prefer a purely romantic and more serious style, others prefer a more casual and fun theme to their video! Whatever style you prefer - my objective is that anyone watching your video will understand exactly what kind of couple you are!

What are the advantages of having two wedding videographers over just one?

To put it simply, there's less risk of missing important items from the day as we can be in two places instead of one. Also, having two cameras filming at the same time allows for some very dynamic cinematic shots that aren't possible with just one videographer. To get more detail on why we think it’s worth the investment, read our blog article.

What kind of gear do you use?

Gear is something I really love…perhaps too much sometimes to the horror of my bank account! I use a variety of cameras including two Sony A7III’s which are fantastic full-frame mirrorless cameras that are perfect for weddings with their low light capabilities. In addition, I use the Sony FDR AX-53 and Sony A6400 which work great as my third and fourth ceremony cameras. Also, I use Manfrotto tripods and monopods for stationary and static shots. I have as well the Zhiyun Crane 2 Gimbal for beautiful cinematic, smooth shots anytime the camera is in motion. Additionally, I'm using a very high-quality drone in the DJI Mavic Air 2 which allows me to get some breathtaking overhead shots.

Great sounding audio is a priority for me and one of the most pertinent parts of any wedding video, it’s an aspect that I think is often overlooked but is incredibly important. I have two Tascam DR 10-Ls which are tiny, lavalier microphones that easily hook onto the officiant and groom to produce awesome sounding audio. Finally, for the bulk of my audio workload, I use a Tascam DR-40X which can plug right into the soundboard using a variety of cables.

How do you get along with photographers?

I love working with photographers!

I contact the photographer ahead of time to find out what their work process looks like and what their set-up or style is for the day.  By finding out this information ahead of time, we can work together as a team, so we can both get the best possible shots while not disrupting any parts of the day.  Often, we can bounce ideas off each other to get quality coverage of all the important moments of your big day.

The priority of any videographer/photographer should always be putting the couple first.  The day belongs to YOU and should likewise be all about you and want you want for the day.

When can we expect delivery of our videos?

It is a top priority for me to make sure that everything that I deliver is unique and done to the absolute best of my ability. Time is needed to create the story of the video, select music, color grade/correct, and creatively customize each video that is delivered.  A lot of time and thought goes into this process so that you receive the best quality I can deliver.

If a videographer promises that you can expect delivery within a week or two of your wedding – I would recommend caution in choosing them.  To deliver the best quality work, time is needed, and it is something that cannot be rushed.

Having said that - as a rule, delivery of every file can be expected within about four months after the wedding date.  There are some exceptions to this rule (very busy work season, family emergency, etc) but this would be communicated to every couple in advance.

How will all our files be delivered to us?

Currently, I am delivering all footage in 4K via WedFlow, a premium delivery service in which you will have access to download all videos for 10 years. Sharing and casting to any device is also incredibly easy and can be done with a few taps or clicks.

How many hours of video coverage do you provide on the wedding day?

In many Wedding Videography packages that you can see online, you’ll see the videographer list the total amount of hours that he/she will be providing video coverage for. This amount can be anywhere from 6-12 hours.  The reason I don’t list a specific amount is that I find it difficult to put an exact number on it, since there are a few different factors that go into this.

One big factor as to why I don’t list the amount of coverage time is that for my packages, there is simply a certain amount of footage that I need to shoot. By limiting myself to an hour requirement such as 6 or 8, I may not be able to deliver everything that is promised in the package. An example could be that if I begin coverage at 8 AM and the speeches don’t start until 7:30 PM that’s already almost 12 hours.  But as per both my packages I deliver a full multi-cam speeches edit and so this needs to be filmed to fulfill my obligations to the couple.

The short answer is that I won’t leave until I feel I have enough quality footage to not only build a great Wedding Film but also fulfill my other obligations such as the ceremony and speeches.

How do we book you?

Please use the contact sheet and send me an e-mail. After that, we either arrange to meet in person for a cup of coffee or we can just chat on the phone/facetime if that’s easier for you!

Once we’ve done our initial meeting, I will give you a wedding videography contract to sign. Once that is signed and the retainer amount of 50% of the final cost is paid, I consider your wedding date a lock and we are good to go!
