"That Garnish of You" // Fun Canada Wedding Film
Shooting for Andrew and Melody gave me a similar feeling to what it was like shooting for Bonnie and Dave’s wedding almost two years earlier, which was very simple: ‘Wow, these people have a lot of really close friends.’ This thought came about not just because of this similar sentiment between the two days but also because I had met Andrew and Melody at Bonnie and Dave’s wedding two years prior. Beyond many of the same key players coming into play throughout the day and even in their wedding film, that feeling of love from their family and friends kept coming up.
This feeling was first felt throughout the ceremony, where it seemed like everyone was deeply moved and affected by the truly moving and romantic words from the couple. Later, this feeling came back up again during their speeches, which were legitimately hilarious and did a great job of poking fun while also expressing very real feelings and emotions from both of them in a way only your closest friends can. And finally, later on during the reception, the love was clear with how just many people packed the dance floor and stayed much later to celebrate with their best friends.
It was an amazing day, and it was even just a total blast for me to be around as an observer. It was one of the rare occasions where, as I was crafting and thinking about how to construct their wedding film, it took me what seemed like an eternity to figure out how exactly what would be the best way to put it together—not because it was hard to find clips and story to put in, but because it was so difficult to make the call about what to leave out. There was simply so much incredible material to work with, and I felt a very real pressure to get it right and to do their story justice. So please enjoy the pant-less dancing, emotional vows, and beautiful setting that is Andrew and Melody’s wedding day.
