“Every Dream...Now Has You In It” // Vintage Outdoors Wedding
It’s interesting to come back and film your first wedding in the brand-new reality of COVID-19. Kelsey & Reegan’s wedding was that first wedding for me, and it’s impossible to ignore how different the day was as opposed to what would be considered a “normal” wedding day. For one thing – they only had a fraction of the people they would have liked to have in attendance. The ceremony was fairly small, and it was outside on Kelsey’s parents’ property. All the vendors were wearing masks, and with the exception of a few slow dances -- there was no dancing. In spite of this, the day still turned out fantastic. Hopefully, if there are just two things that were evident from their wedding film, it’s the fact that, wow, are these two ever crazy about each other and also how much fun they have together! That’s something that couldn’t possibly be faked for the camera even if we tried. These two elements were on full display for the entire day, and what a stress-free wedding this was to film -- which is just the way I like it.
How did they make the most out of a stressful situation like getting married in the midst of a pandemic? Simple. They focused on the things that were the most important to them. The ceremony was small but beautiful; they read letters to each other prior to the ceremony and before Reegan had even had the chance to see Kelsey. After the ceremony, they left with crazy style in Reegan’s dad’s classic Charger, and then they made the most of their reception with lots of home-cooked food and good friends. What a wonderful celebration it was, and I couldn’t be happier for them!
