I Would Say “Yes” Anywhere // Downtown Summer Wedding

If you want a hear a romantic story, look no further than Danny and Sharla. I came onboard to their wedding only a week before their day courtesy of a recommendation from their photographer, and I’m so glad that I did.

From a proposal in Europe, the impression I got from their vows and speeches was that these two are all about adventure and experiencing new and exciting things together. There are so many favorite moments that I have from the day that stick out in my mind but here are just a few:

I started the day uptown, where I shot the girls getting hair and makeup done. I just think that it’s going to be so interesting to look back on their wedding film in 20 years and wonder why everyone is wearing a mask indoors. Next was caviar and champagne at the guys’ place while they got ready. After that, we headed downtown for their first look which was quite sweet and amazingly easy for everyone to see how much they loved each other. Finally, at reception time, we had an amazing dinner, courtesy of the delicious catering. I had the steak, which was sheer perfection. This was followed by speeches, where I heard multiple times how much Sharla detested being on camera when she was very young, which was quite ironic, given that I thought the two of them seemed very natural on camera and the photographer and I had so much fun with them come picture time.

The night ended with a classic shoe game, a bouquet toss, and just a couple of slow dances. Blame COVID-19 for the fact that they couldn’t do much more dancing than that. But really, it was a fantastic day surrounded by some people who clearly love these two very much. All the best!
